Step 1: Unpack the Air Bladder & Air Pump
Once you remove your Mattress Genie from the package, unfold and place your air bladder on a flat surface (bed, floor, etc.). Remove the twist ties & straighten the hose out. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose that is attached to the Mattress Genie bladder. Place your air pump on the floor next to your bed on the side your hose is on.
Step 2: Place Air Bladder Underneath Your Mattress
Slide your mattress a third of the way down your box spring or base (fig 1). This will leave a third of your box spring or base exposed. Place the air bladder in the exposed section of your box spring or base (fig 2a/2b). Slide your mattress back in its original position on top of the air bladder.
Step 3: Attach Your Bladder to the Motor Unit
Notice the red dot on top of the pump nozzle (fig 3). Attach the hose to the air pump by firmly sliding the hose connector over the air pump nozzle (fig 4). Once attached, you will see the red dot through the hose connector .Twist the connector clockwise to make the red dot disappear (fig 5-1 & 5-2).
Step 4: Power the Unit On
Plug the air pump into the wall, flip the switch to the “ON” position (fig 6) by pressing down the “I” side of the black button. You can now slide the air pump under the bed and out of the way.
Congratulations! Your Mattress Genie is now ready for use!
To inflate the unit, press the “UP” button on your hand control to raise your mattress (fig 7). The motor will kick on and start inflating your unit. Once you release the “Up” button, the blower will stop. Note: If you need to deflate your unit at all, press/hold down the “Down” button on your remote. You will not hear the blower turn on like it did during inflation – but you will hear the air escaping the unit through its valve system
Note: Your mattress will not fully flex without your body’s weight on top of it, as is the case with mechanical adjustable beds.
